Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 So installed the newest Modpack... Are you guys getting the Damage Meter to work? Because I can't....... there must be something with admin rights or that the modpack isn't configuring the mods correctly if the mod work. Aslains_WoWs_Logs.zip Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted January 12, 2018 Moderator Posted January 12, 2018 What is it with you and the Damage Meter mod? It hates you I think... Or there's some serious Gremlins on a rampage near you... Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 I know, must be something..... Fully reinstalled Windows 10 again... While using Windows 10 I have always issues with Admin Rights, like can't install .exe files without taking ownership of that folder. No idea if this is the case, but installed on several drives with the same issue. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted January 12, 2018 Moderator Posted January 12, 2018 That doesn't sound good at all, if you're "forced" to take ownership of folders, to install exe files, for example I suppose that could easily cause issues with the files being run to make appropriate changes to files. (What does the contents of the USSExpressionsLoader.xml look like? It's in \res_mods\VERSION\gui\flash\) What is your account set as, if you look at that in the control panel? Mine is called "Local Account, Administrator" https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-user-account-type-windows-10 Quote

Many times I had issues with Admin rights so I created a Offline local account, then synced to Microsoft to activate Win 10 that way. But taking ownership has nothing to do with Admin account, at least from my experience after 10+ reinstalls. But trying on another HDD now to see it helps. Quote
Moderator Quaksen Posted January 12, 2018 Moderator Posted January 12, 2018 USSExpressionsLoader.xml looks fine. So I suppose that file can be ruled out as being the culprit. I would look into the whole "taking ownership"-deal, that's not supposed to be happening, from my own experience. Once Aslain wakes up, maybe he can see something else in your log files, that might help out as well. 1 Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 New install on another HDD, still no Detailed Damage Meter (MOD). I have no idea why this crap doesn't work....... There must be something blocking Warships, MODs or certain files from being altered or accessed. Aslains_WoWs_Logs.zip Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted January 12, 2018 Administrator Posted January 12, 2018 Can you for a test change the game resolution to FHD and check if you can see it? Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 I can test resolution, but has worked on 1440p and 4K before when it actually worked. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted January 12, 2018 Administrator Posted January 12, 2018 I can test your res_mods folder on my game client. Just reduce it to this mod only and pack to zip. Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Resolution change didn't display the Damage Meter, tried damaging ships in case it's displayed when doing damage.. Nothing. So don't think res_mods folder is the issue, it's some config file that isn't being altered or blocked from being accessed. Warships_MODs_0.6_15.1.1.zip Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted January 12, 2018 Administrator Posted January 12, 2018 Well played with your res_mods, no issues, I can see dmg meters. Check what file permissions you have on mod files, especialy the ones related to damagemeter. Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Checked drive permission, folder permissions and preferences/damage file permissions. All checks out and doesnt solve the problem. Also remove the write protection on the SSD, did not help. I have no idea why this isn't working... Do you have a MEGA site to copy your game and settings (remove personal account details from certain files)? Would like to test a working install from a different user.. See if there is something about the install or something else at play here. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted January 12, 2018 Administrator Posted January 12, 2018 Anything else? preferences.xml Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Tried using that file, and still no meter... Can you ask BADoBEST/Monstrofil about this? If they know what is being altered or what the issue might be? Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted January 12, 2018 Administrator Posted January 12, 2018 Maybe you are blacklisted in that mod? I was 5 years ago in tank carousel mod Do you have another different PC to test in there? Quote
Battlenat0r Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 lol... would have been a valid point, but don't think that :-D But must be something with Windows 10 or Warships files. Quote
