hia1thealt Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) In the process of installing the mods, I get the error "An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory" referring to modsettings.dat. Location is C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Roaming\Wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks\modsetting.dat. I've checked the permissions on that folder and they are full control. I'm not sure what else needs to be checked. Screenshot attached. It notes that it cannot create a file when that file already exists, but I'm not sure what the expected outcome is. I renamed the folder and it made a modsettings.dat file instead. I re-ran the install to see if that would be accepted and it choked again on the same file. To be clear, modsettings.dat was actually a folder when I started. When I tried to fix, it became just a file. Edited February 23, 2017 by hia1thealt Additional info Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 23, 2017 Administrator Posted February 23, 2017 Turn off modbutton settings backup. Quote
hia1thealt Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 The only thing turned on is "Delete all previous mods" and "Delete Python logs" and I still get the error. What is the net effect of ignoring the error and proceeding? Quote

hia1thealt Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 I tried that and got a file. There was a folder by the same name before with several subfolders. Should the result now be just a single modsettings.dat file? Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 23, 2017 Administrator Posted February 23, 2017 cannot find logs to check Quote
hia1thealt Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) That worked, by the way.... I guess I was just confused by the expected output. Here are the logs, btw. Sorry! _Aslain_logs.zip python.log Edited February 23, 2017 by hia1thealt Logs Quote

Mattmax Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 okay, I hope some of the old working mod's will be back soon.... Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 23, 2017 Administrator Posted February 23, 2017 Error suppose to be fixed in new modpack #01 Quote
hotfuse Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I'm still getting the 183 error. I've tried deleting the contents of my res_mods folder, and I only have "delete previous mods" checked in the installation. I can get through it with the ignore button and I can launch a game, but I CTD and then can't get in. Quote
Administrator Aslain Posted February 24, 2017 Administrator Posted February 24, 2017 Same in modpack #02 ? Alternatively don't install Vehicle Exp Extended and Direction Indicator for now. Quote
