I completely understand the problem that pierrevn has. It took me FOREVER to find XMQP in the installer. Even after I found it the first time, selected it and later wanted to make sure I had indeed selected it, I almost gave up before finding it. Maybe if the font color could be changed for a new addition, but if it can not be done we can live with it...or at least I can.
v9.14.48 (12-05-2016):
- updated Multi Hit Log - InBattle WN8, EFF, Damage (by eskpoint)
- from now the orange XMQP indicator will be displayed if friendly tank is spotted [the 6th sense perk is required on that tank]
Russian
If my Russian is not rusted entirely, it works like this:
If we have XMQP switched on, and another player also have this switched on, and his commander has "6th sense" trained, we see grey bulb by his marker. When he is spotted, the bulb turns yellow. There can be other situations, like vehicle in fire, vehicle overturned, or vehicle drowning indicated by other icons taking place of this bulb.
After I've picked which mods to install and it moves to the download/install part, the installer keeps failing on downloading 'ContourIcons_Aslains_HP_bar_3_550'
Thanks alot in advance.
After you select one of the custom ports in the modpack, you need to go into the port selection setting in the game (anchor symbol in the upper left hand corner, above the missions box). Then choose the Yokosuka port on the far left. The name will not reflect the DLC port you selected in the modpack, but the image will.
Assuming the "Hydro-acoustic" searh in the game is similar to what is commonly called "sonar", that would pickup any noises, not just prop-wash style noises. Anything with moving parts that is eventually connected to the hull of a ship (unless mitigated with a sound dampening material) will transmit noise through the hull of the ship out into the water. Water is a much better conductor of noise than air so it will travel for a long way.
* new xmqp feature for exchanging data between players (experimental):
new macros:
{{x-enabled}} - player have xmqp service enabled
{{x-sense-on}} - player studied "sixth sense" perk
{{x-spotted}} - player vehicle is spotted
{{x-fire}} - fire in vehicle
{{x-overturned}} - player vehicle is overturned
{{x-drowning}} - player vehicle is drowning
I'm gonna go on record and say the German Hydro-acoustic search gives away beached ships, i.e. no prop wash. On more than one occasion I've seen the smoke pop, hit my hydro-acoutsic-pancake-maker-dog-declawer and found the enemy DD beached, quietly, until I put a few rounds in them and then the classic "Hakorz!" cry slips across the blue Aslain-enlarged ocean waves.....
Hm. Well, generally, the common cause when someone suddenly doesn't see their tanks, is the Reserve filter is turned on.
Yours will have it named differently, since I customized my own, but it'll most likely be the bottom one that got ticked... install the XVM garage/tank carousel again, and have a look there :)
And you have to admit.... if the DD was COMPLETELY UNDETECTABLE in the smoke cloud, it would be even more stupidly overpowered than it already is... :P
Translated from the original mod author post and from the default config:
Зеленый вперед, желтый назад, красный стоит?
В конфиге же все. А так... по умолчанию: красный - назад, желтый - стоит.
Green - ship is going forward
Yellow - ship is standing still
Red - ship is going backwards
