The only reason that particular tank would be missing, when using XVM carousel - and reappearing when you don't use it, is if you have it set as Reserve, using the XVM feature.
So I suggest you check it again. While having the XVM carousel installed.
You shouldn't download it from anywhere else except for:

or

Yeah, what @kcm36b2 said.. account reset is done on player request. Maybe someone else got access to your clan members account and requested the reset somehow. Have your "quite IT illiterate" friend check the old tickets in the support site. https://na.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/my-tickets/
As for your statement that people are in a steady stream being banned for using Aslain's, that's complete nonsense, and has been debunked by Wargaming themselves on multiple occasions... people are getting banned for using CHEAT mods or other forbidden things - NOT for using Aslain's modpack.
Oh yeah, maybe that's why.. hmm.
RU/NA updates the day before EU does.. so maybe the author behind Team Aware fiddled with something that ended up causing that issue on EU?
Do keep in mind that Aslain is on vacation, so support is a bit less for the moment
The list of mods is in the logs file, everything needed is included in that actually
My best guess would be Team Aware causing it - especially since you said you cannot see it yourself. Odd that it's posted to chat though.
Could you try reinstalling modpack without Team Aware, and see what happens?
I'll move this to the issues section instead, please attach log files, in case it is something caused by a mod, your selected mods could give hints and what not
Becomes one of the types.
I cannot recall for sure (and currently playing WoT, so cannot check), but I think the ingame preview when selecting crosshairs, should match the Krab/selected one.
Yeah, its should be there.
If it's not - please attach log files, link to the guide on how to is in my signature, but also the sticky thread in this forum section you posted in
(Edit: Correction, in the forum section I moved your post to, since it was in the wrong one, hehe)
As long as you've selected the correct folder, the error message isn't as important. Thought if you're using the Steam client, things can be broken.
When you install a crosshair, you need to select the proper crosshair in the ingame settings menu.
Please attach log files.
But I'm guessing it's an XVM issue, I'm getting the same, and I know multiple others having the same issues.
Not easily tested though - as it requires playing those special battles - replays work fine, so they won't work for testing.

And besides that, there's an ingame menu - I believe it's when you click the cog in the top left, before you actually exit the game, it should be there.
